Lions, leopards, elephants, Cape buffalo and even the rare black rhino can all be witnessed on this exciting safari, based in the high-end camps of Serengeti Bushtops and Roving Bushtops.
The Serengeti of Tanzania is one of Africa's most famous wildlife areas, its sweeping savannahs home to many of the continent's standout species. Here you can spot lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant, black rhino, Cape buffalo, wildebeest and antelope, to name but a few. There are many ways that one can experience the Serengeti; if you're looking for a more luxurious option, this safari is just the ticket. Roving Bushtops and Serengeti Bushtops allow you to see this national park in style.
Take a light aircraft flight this morning from Arusha to Northern Serengeti National Park (via Manyara). Watch out for wildlife as you soar over the plains of this vast wilderness and enjoy the spectacular scenery below. Upon arrival at the airstrip you’ll be met by your professional safari guide and driven to your camp, with the chance to spot wildlife along the way. Upon arrival at camp, check in to your tent and enjoy lunch. After a siesta, head out for your first game drive in the park, finishing the day off with a sundowner, before returning to camp for dinner.
Overnight: Serengeti Bushtops (L, D)
Explore this lesser-visited area of the Serengeti National Park on twice-daily game drives and guided walks. Between mid-July and November you have a good chance of catching up with the migration as millions of wildebeest and zebra make the annual trek northwards into Kenya's fertile soils. As they cross the various river channels, huge crocodiles move in to prey on the weaker animals, making for a veritable feast. Alongside the migration you have a variety of predators in tow including lion, cheetah, leopard, hyena and more... The northern Serengeti offers a truly unique wildlife experience with great resident game year-round and relatively few visitors.
Overnight: Serengeti Bushtops (B, L, D)
After a final game drive to explore the Northern Serengeti this morning, you will be driven to the airstrip to fly by light aircraft to the Central Serengeti where you will embark on the second half of your safari. You will notice a change in landscape to the north, and with it – depending on the season – different wildlife. You will be met on arrival by your guide before being introduced to the Roving Bushtops camp. A delicious lunch will be served before you have the chance to enjoy an afternoon nap or, if you prefer, a few hours relaxing around camp. Later in the afternoon you will head off on your first game drive in this new area of the Serengeti in search of resident game, or if travelling between January and March, the mass of the migration. After the obligatory sundowner you will return to camp for dinner.
Overnight: Roving Bushtops (B, L, D)
Embark on three full days of safari exploring the Seronera Valley of the Central Serengeti. You will go on twice-daily game drives alongside your expert wildlife guide, with plenty of opportunity to spot game and document your adventures. As well as the big game including elephant, lion and buffalo that the Serengeti is known for, and the cheetah that love to hunt on the sweeping plains, keep your eyes peeled for lesser-spotted species including jackal and painted dog. The Moru Kopjes are one of the last haunts of the endangered black rhino, so spend some time on the lookout for these beautiful beasts in their natural habitat. You will return to camp each day for lunch and the chance to relax and watch the Bush TV to see what wildlife you can spot in the surrounding areas. Afternoons will be spent out on safari once more with your guide, then a break for sunset drinks, before returning to camp for dinner.
Overnight: Roving Bushtops (B, L, D)
Enjoy a final game drive before lunch (checkout will be in the morning). You will then be transferred to the airstrip for your flight back to Arusha. On arrival you will be met and transferred to a hotel near the airport where you can enjoy dinner (at your own expense), before you are driven to the airport for your onward flight.
