Jetwing Vil Uyana

about jetwing vil uyana, sigiriya

Elegant and tranquil, Vil Uyana blends with its surrounding natural habitat. Meaning ‘Water Garden’, Vil Uyana is a haven for anyone wanting to combine their love of nature with their want for luxury.

There are 25 detached ‘dwellings’, set within 23 acres of land, made up of four distinct habitats, marsh, paddy, forest and water.

Distinctly different, the dwellings have a slightly Balinese feel and a strong emphasis on the exquisite natural world surrounding you.

Style

Luxurious, yet rustic, chalet-like dwellings in either marsh, forest, paddy fields or water.

Setting

163 Kilometres from Colombo, the journey between there and Jetwing Vil Uyana is quite long, yet very inspiring.

Accommodation & Facilities

The 2 standard rooms are quaint and rustic with a simple décor and open air bathrooms. Forest dwellings are built over 2 levels, upstairs a spacious bedroom and lounge area, downstairs a private swimming pool and dining area, surrounded by forest. There are 7 marsh dwellings, two with a private deck, the other four, similar to the paddy dwellings, are basic in design, built on stilts over their respective land. 2 Marsh dwellings and all paddy dwellings have a plunge pool. Water dwellings are on stilts, over the wetland constructed to form a private nature reserve, each with a private balcony. Dwellings are all spacious, graciously welcoming the outside world, yet with modern amenities and some very nice touches…

There are also two restaurants and a spa, as well as the Graffiti Bar, which serves the best in spirits.

Dining

There are two options when it comes to dining. Firstly The Aspara, with amazing views to Sigiriya rock across the lake, serves Eastern and Western cuisine and The Sulang is a casual place for light refreshments.

Activities

Overlooking the towering Sigiriya Rock, you are in a wonderful place for cultural exploration, as well as that of nature.
