Sri Lanka Honeymoon Safaris

Why Sri Lanka is the ideal honeymoon destination

Sri Lanka is a great destination for a honeymoon if you want to do a little more than just relaxing on a beach. Of course you can do this too, but there is so much more on offer. The leopards are no doubt one of the main attractions of Sri Lanka and both Yala and Wilpattu National Park offers you the chance to see these beautiful cats in the wild! Minneriya National Park is a lush park within easy driving distance of Colombo and it provides the best chances of seeing Asian Elephants in the wild as well as some unique photographic opportunities during The Gathering. You then have the incredible marine life off the coast including blue whales which are visible just a few miles from the coast.

As well the blue whales, the Sri Lankan coast is home to humpback whales, bride whales, killer whales and dolphins.

The cultural side of Sri Lanka is hugely interesting too from hilltop palaces to forested monasteries and glittering temples. The Cultural Triangle in Sri Lanka includes Anuradhapura, Polonnaruva and Kandy and travelling to these destinations offers an incredible array of cultural highlights including the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, The Temple of the Tooth, the royal city and palaces at Polonnaruwa, and Dambulla, the largest cave monastery in the country.

There is appropriate accommodation for Sri Lanka honeymoons no matter what type of couple you are. Whether you want to stay at beautifully transformed old colonial mansion, a high end hotel or in a luxury tent, moving with the wildlife. There is a real romanticism about Sri Lanka even though it is an up and coming destination and the lodges are not quite up to the extravagant standards of, say, Africa.

Combining all of the above and ending on a beautiful beach at the end can make the perfect honeymoon, contact us for details on how we can make your honeymoon even more special.
