Rooms and suites are uniquely designed over 3 floors, opening out onto a central courtyard. All of the accommodation is luxuriously spacious with comfortable king-sized beds and crisp linen.
There are 3 Garden Rooms with attached bathrooms with showers. The Loft Suites are spread over two floors with a romantic bedroom that overlooks the garden and pool sitting above a lounge that opens to the veranda. The Porcelain Suite is a similar size but on one level and features a beautiful blue and white porcelain display. The Admiral Cheng Ho Suite and the Library Suite are larger and more lavish, with some impressively unique features, such as a carved Chinese opium bed and waterfall shower in the former. The latter is a large suite over 30’ long with 2 king sized beds. The Mews Suite is more of a mini-villa with an air-conditioned ‘cubby house’ for children upstairs and a private en-suite that leads to a small private courtyard with a day bed and granite shower. Lastly the Grand Apartment that occupies the entire top floor of the old wing with two king size bedrooms with their own en-suites as well as a private full length veranda. These suites can be rented individually with a shared living room and veranda, or together to provide a private floor within the hotel.
There is a 10-metre swimming pool for the use of guests with a lovely courtyard to relax in. There is also a charming bar/café, popular with guests and locals alike and an exciting restaurant.
The kitchen is renowned for producing some of the best Asian fusion cuisine and comes with fantastic service. Meals can be taken in the bar or on the back terrace overlooking the garden and pool.
Explore the surrounding Dutch fort and navigate the maze of narrow streets alive with the daily activity of the resident community. You can head to Mirissa for dolphin and whale watching (in season, Nov – Apr), or relax on the beaches of Wijaya, Unawatuna and Mirissa. There are local antiques shops and art galleries as well as restaurants and you are a only a 10 minute walk from the gates to the centre of Galle and its busy markets.
