Setting

Gal Oya Lodge is located in 25 acres of private forest near the unexplored Gal Oya National Park. Surrounded by forest and mountains, this lodge is perfectly situated to fully take in the beauty of nature and enjoy close encounters with wildlife. 

Accommodation & Facilities

Gal Oya Lodge comprises seven secluded bungalows and a two-bedroomed villa which is great for groups or families. Each bungalow has been designed with the surroundings in mind, constructed with natural materials, solar-powered showers and sustainable living areas for an eco-friendly retreat.

Each bungalow consists of a large, spacious bedroom, separate sitting room and comfortable verandah from which to enjoy your surroundings.

When not out on safari, relax on sun loungers by the pool on explore the grounds taking in the astounding views.

Dining

The bar and restaurant are located in the main lodge and provide both eastern and western cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Snacks and hot drinks are also available throughout the day. All meals are prepared using locally-sourced produce with some even coming from the on-site organic kitchen-garden. Dietary requirements can be catered for so please let us know at the time of booking so this can be arranged.

Activities

Activities around Gal Oya Lodge include game drives, boat safaris, nature walks and cultural visits. You can choose your daily activities depending on your interests and preferences, so speak to the lodge staff to plan your stay. If you wish to partake in cultural visits you can meet the local Veddha people, an indigenous group native to this region. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain an insight into the culture and history of the local community.
