Setting
The Windamere is situated on top of Observatory Hill in Darjeeling, set within spacious manicured gardens from which guests can see Tibet, Bhutan, Nepal and Sikkim.
Accommodation & Facilities
The hotel contains 41 rooms and suites spread across the main Ada Villa and several standalone cottages. The main villa contains several Royal Suites named after some of the hotels high-profile visitors, including the two-bedroom Prince Peter of Greece & Denmark and the Princess of Siam suites. All rooms are spacious and comfortable, decorated in a traditional colonial style with period furnishings.
The hotel also features the Itati spa offering a number of relaxing and rejuvenating treatments, a Victorian-style dining room, a bar, gift shop and several sitting rooms.
Dining
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served in the large dining room and consist of Indian and Continental cuisines. Traditional Afternoon Tea is served between 4-6pm, including scones, cake and finger sandwiches.
Activities
The hotel is ideally situated for exploring the historic town of Darjeeling, world-renowned for its colonial history and tea estates. Guests can explore the bustling bazaars or Buddhist monasteries, or travel to the mountains of Singalila National Park.
