Setting
Chambal Safari Lodge is located around an hour from Agra and can easily be combined with a day trip to the Taj Mahal.
Accommodation & Facilities
The property has 6 luxury rooms which are in the main house and 8 cottages which are split across two separate cottage blocks within the woodland surrounding the main house. Each cottage and luxury room has a veranda overlooking either farmland or woodland. The main house has a cosy sitting room, library and bar.
Dining
Breakfast is served in the main house and lunch often on the lawn in front of the house. The owners consider themselves real foodies and take pride in making delicious, home cooked food for their guests.
Activities
Chambal is one of the only lodges to have a licence to go out on to the river. Therefore, it makes for a perfect destination for those looking to go out on boat trips and explore areas like the National Chambal Sanctuary. Within the sanctuary, there is possiblity of seeing an extensive amount of wildlife, including jungle cats, jungle hares, Indian striped hyenas and over 180 species of birds. There is an option of a nature walk within the grounds and around the ravines. You can also explore these areas on jeep safaris! If you'd like to leave the vecinity of the lodge for a day, village walks, a visit to the Bateshwar Temples and Fort Ater can also be arranged.
