Setting

Banjaar Tola, A Taj Safari is situated on the banks of the Banjaar River overlooking the heart of the Kanha National Park - an area renowned worldwide for its excellent tiger viewing. Kanha is one of nine reserves in 'Project Tiger', launched to save the species.

Accommodation & Facilities

The lodge boasts two elegant camps of nine suites, each with its own intimate tented sitting area. Banjaar Tola has a unique identity, celebrating the Bastar and Dogra art that hails from nearby Chattisgarh.

The 18 contemporary tents are set on a raised platform alongside the Banjaar River, blending seamlessly with their surroundings. Each stylish tent features pressed bamboo wall panels and gorgeous bamboo floors. Inside, timber furniture is hand crafted locally from exotic Indian trees and driftwood, and textiles are woven from Madhya Pradesh cottons and silks, giving a light organic feel. Wide, glass doors open onto private decks which overlook the river, offering panoramic views of the wilderness beyond.

The dining and sitting area features a small interpretive library, crammed full of fascinating information on the region and its wildlife. Guests can browse peacefully in the well-stocked shop, or idle away the hours by the lodge swimming pool. The spacious dining decks have dramatic views of the river or into the heart of the sal forest.

Dining

Delicious Indian cuisine is served on decks in the dining area. Special meals may be arranged on the private verandas, and jungle dinners can be enjoyed at lantern-lit spots in the sal forest.

Child Policy

Children are welcome at Banjaar Tola but children aged 5 and under cannot participate in game drives. Children age 6 to 12 may participate at the manager’s discretion.
