Setting

In the foothills of Mount Meru, Rivertrees Country Inn is located on the Usa River, 20 kilometres from Arusha on the Nairobi-Moshi Road. The Inn can be reached easily from Kilimanjaro International Airport (about 30 minutes) and Arusha Airport (about 1 hour).

Accommodation & Facilities

There are 18 Garden Rooms, each uniquely styled, with views to the wonderful gardens. The furnishings are antique throughout the bedroom and within the self-contained bathroom you will find a shower or bath. Large, comfortable beds are shrouded in mosquito netting, hot water is on demand and there is bottled water provided. There are just two River Cottages, both located along the Usa River, hidden under a grove of trees that play home to vervet and blue monkeys. Additional to the amenities in the Garden Rooms, River Rooms have an outdoor shower (private) and expansive patio with views to the Usa River. The wonderful River House is split into two wings and is available for sole use, or for the use of two parties. Each wing is identical and here you will find a bath and shower, bar, kitchen and terrace. You can even add to your stay with the use of a private chef and butler.

River Rooms have disabled access and Wi-Fi is complimentary in public areas. Laundry services and private dining are on request. There is a restaurant and spa on site.

Activities

Rivertrees provides some excellent activities during your stay, each at an extra cost. Canoe on Lake Duluti in the early morning or late afternoon for some wonderful wildlife sightings or enjoy a coffee tour. You also can embark on a tour of the local village,  go mountain biking, enjoy a river walk or ‘Cook the Garden’ – pick fresh ingredients with the chefs, then proceed to the kitchen where you will learn the art of cooking fresh – and eating of course. The grounds surrounding Rivertrees attract myriad bird species, wander around  for an exciting, and free, self-guided birding tour.
