About Mbali Mbali Katavi, Katavi

Set on an elevated point overlooking the vast plains of Katisunga, Mbali Mbali Katavi is shaded by acacia and tamarind trees, and experiences stunning African sunsets.

Lodge Details

A luxury tented camp located in one of Tanzania’s most inaccessible regions.

Not far from Katavi airstrip, the camp overlooks the vast Katisunga floodplain, and has excellent access to the savannah game wildlife and one of Tanzania's most exciting wildlife destinations.

Accommodation & Facilities

The twelve luxury tented bandas discreetly blend in with their natural surroundings and are raised on wooden platforms, each with a large private balcony overlooking the floodplain. The tents are extremely spacious and have en-suite tiled bathrooms with a shower, toilet and 24 hour hot water.

The tent has an large dining room and small bar. A campfire is lit each night - the perfect spot to appreciate the vast night sky.

Mbali Mbali Katavi serves sumptuous, international cuisine. Meals are taken in the dining area and there is a small bar in a separate building. Sometimes a barbeque outside under the tamarind bushes offers an alternative dinner location.

Game drives of full or half day duration are taken in open-sided safari vehicles, and focus on the woodland areas along the seasonal lakes and floodplains. Short guided walking safaris can also be taken from the camp and there are plans to introduce fly camping in different areas of the park.
