Lodge Details

Style

Luxurious, spacious accommodations with an elegant feel, right on the beach.

Setting

Baraza Resort is set on a stunning stretch of white sand, considered one of the best beaches on Zanzibar, the resort is easily accessible via the Zanzibar International Airport, from which you will need to travel about 6 kilometres to Stone Town, then 50 minutes on a good road.

Accommodation & Facilities

The villas are all spread out around the wonderful gardens, bright with flowers and perfectly manicured. There are 14 one bedroom villas and 15 two bedroom villas, as well as a Presidential two bedroom villa for something even more special with its own private garden, bigger plunge pool and extra room – often used for a nanny or carer. Each of the villas is very spacious, designed to reflect traditional Swahili architecture with hand-crafted furnishing by local artisans, dramatic arches and brass lanterns. They are comprised of a large living area with a day bed, bathroom, plunge pool and private terrace

Facilities include a large outdoor pool, a gym and two tennis courts, as well as a spa with a lap pool (with underwater music) and a yoga room. There is also a library with games and books and a gift shop brimming with local crafts.

Dining

Cuisine is excellent here with a strong emphasis on fresh seafood, plucked straight from the ocean.

Activities

The perfect spot for some relaxation, you might find it hard to tear yourself away from your beautiful villa; however there are many activities to be enjoyed here. The Water Club, just 300 metres from Baraza, offers lessons in wind-surfing, sailing and kite-surfing, or you can head to the PADI dive centre – great for anyone, from beginner to professional. The underwater life here is spectacular, but you don’t need to dive to see it, snorkelling is a great option if you don’t fancy going to deep.

Child Policy

Children are welcome at Baraza. We recommend you stay in the two bedroom villa so there is enough space for you all to stay comfortably together. There is a children’s club, excellent for keeping your little ones entertained. An excellent choice for a few days to relax at the end of your family safari.
