Nestled beneath a canopy of ancient trees, Ulusaba Safari Lodge ignites a real sense of adventure, with rooms connected via rope bridges and wildlife wandering freely around. 

In the heart of the bush, the lodge has a commanding position, where warrior chiefs once lived in safely, calling the place Ulusaba, meaning ‘place of little fear’.

Setting

Ulusaba Private Game Reserve is set in the heart of Sabi Sands Game Reserve, on the border of Kruger National Park. Surrounded by Ulusaba’s spectacular hills, Safari Lodge is located on the banks of the Mabrak Riverbed. The lodge is about a 1.5 hour flight by twin engine aircraft to the Ulusaba Airstrip.

Accommodation & Facilities

Each of the rooms is built with a tree house style, connected via rope bridges, and in 3 different styles, Elephant, Safari and River – some of the River rooms have plunge pools. There is also the very luxurious Treehouse Suite which is a 15 minute walk from the main area for complete exclusivity, with views over the Xikwenga Dam, a favourite hangout for wallowing hippos. Rooms and simply beautiful, with a traditional style, an open structure to welcome in the outside and plush furnishings. All rooms have their own shady, private balcony for day long game viewing.

There are tennis courts, a spa and gymnasium located at the nearby Rock Lodge, open to use by those staying at Safari Lodge. You can also just relax in the lounge with a range of DVD’s, a library and games. The laundry service is included

Dining

Internationally renowned for its spectacular cuisine, all meals and drinks (including fine wines and champagnes) are included in the price of your stay. Serving Pan African dishes, no dietary requirement is too difficult to be catered for and you can enjoy your exciting dished in the contemporary dining room or outside by the warmth of the fire.

Activities

Game drives are twice daily, accompanied by a fully trained and experienced tracker you have a great chance of spotting the big five. You can also join a walking safari, the ultimate way of getting close to the land and spotting things you easily miss from a vehicle, as well as learning about the local plants and wildlife.  As well as this there are the pools, tennis courts, relaxing lounge and gymnasium. There is a fully stocked wine cellar so you can embark on a wine tasting adventure, or just spend the evening gazing at the stars form the observatory in the bush.

Child Policy

Those with younger children should consider staying at wonderful Rock Lodge or the exclusive Cliff Lodge.
