Kalahari Desert

Tswalu is a luxury safari lodge and game reserve located in the Kalahari Desert of South Africa. It is the largest private game reserve in South Africa and covers over 100,000 hectares of land.

The Kalahari Reserve is home to a variety of wildlife, including rare and endangered species such as the black rhino, wild dog, and pangolin. A central waterhole, strategically positioned in front of the main guest area, beckons various wildlife, particularly during the dry season. Immerse yourself in the pristine natural surroundings, where indigenous gardens flourish, providing a haven for antelope and a plethora of bird species.

The lodge features two lodges, Tswalu Motse and Tswalu Tarkuni, each with its own unique design and style.

Tswalu is located in the Kalahari Reserve on the southern edge of the Kalahari, 350km from Upington Airport. You can fly-in to Tswalu Kalahari Reserve from Cape Town, Johannesburg, Kimberley or Upington by private charter.

Tswalu Motse has 9 suites, while Tswalu Tarkuni has 5 suites, each with its own private deck and en-suite bathroom. The suites are equipped with all modern amenities, including air conditioning, indoor and outdoor showers, and a minibar. The lodge has a swimming pool, a spa that offers a range of treatments, and a fitness centre.
