Lion Sands Ivory Lodge is a magnificent base in which to explore the Lion Sands Game Reserve; famous for its multitude of leopard as well as the big five. There are a number of suites available here, situated at least 20 metres apart from each other ensures a great amount of privacy for you to enjoy your surroundings.

Setting

Located in the Lion Sands Reserve reachable via a 5 hour drive from Johannesburg or charter plane from Cape Town, Johannesburg or Skukuza Airport.

Accommodation & Facilities

At Ivory Lodge there are six luxurious suites available all providing you with a stunning location to truly appreciate your surroundings. Each of which are furnished with neutral décor and large poster beds creating a calming and relaxing atmosphere in which you can enjoy your safari. Each of the suites have their own en-suite bathroom with free-standing bath with stunning vistas from all areas of your suite and a private plunge pool the only opportunity to lure you away will be when you go in search of the big five.

Dining

All meals are included during your stay at Ivory Lodge and the greatest effort is made to use as many locally sourced products as possible. A full range of dietary requirements can be catered for (with prior notice) including vegetarian meals, kosher meals and children’s meals. All meals at the lodge can be savoured in a number of places including the outdoor deck, boma area or even in your suite. The meals are all served in a buffet style with a wide range of dishes to choose from.

Activities

The main focus during your stay at Ivory Lodge is upon spotting the vast array of wildlife which lives in your stunning surrounds. You will have the opportunity to take part in twice daily game drives, once in the morning and the other in the evening, 4x4 safari vehicles are used and you will be accompanied by a knowledgeable guide. Aside from this you can also explore the area on foot during a daily guided walk, visit local villages where you can learn about the Shangaan culture including medicines and crafts or even take a hot air balloon trip to give an entirely different perspective of the reserve.

Child Policy

Children over the age of 10 are welcome and a babysitting service can be arranged.
