Setting
Bushmans Kloof is located in a scenic expanse of wilderness in the foothills of the Cedarberg Mountains, approximately three hours north of Cape Town.
Accommodation & Facilities
The reserve can accommodate up to 34 guests in 16 rooms and suites and the exclusive Koro Lodge. Each room is elegantly appointed with comfortable furnishings, with private patios and en-suite bathrooms. The supreme suite also features its own infinity swimming pool and lounge area, while the Koro Lodge is a traditional farmhouse, set apart from the main lodge, with two bedrooms, a loft area, kitchen, library and outdoor barbecue area, and is ideal for family getaways.
The reserve also has a swimming pool, a library and billiard room, and a peaceful spa offering a variety of personalised treatments.
Dining
The reserve prides itself on its authentic Cape cuisine, blending traditional European and African styles. Many of the ingredients used are grown in the reserves own organic gardens. There are three main dining options available at Bushmans Kloof: The Homestead, offering fine dining experiences in the main lodge; Makana, for sheltered and al fresco dinning, or Embers, serving buffet-style meals in a dramatic location on the edge of a cliff.
Activities
The activities on offer at the reserve revolve around the area’s incredible history and environment, from guided excursions to view the bush art sites, to botanical and birdwatching tours, game drives and nature walks. Bushmans Kloof is home to one of the largest herds of Cape Mountain Zebra in South Africa, as well as smaller species such as baboons, rock hyraxes and African wildcats. Guests can also go swimming or canoeing in one of the reserves crystal clear natural pools, try their hand at archery or play croquet on the lodges well-kept lawns.
