Wolwedans Dune Camp

NamibRand Nature Reserve

Built on the side of a 250 metre high vegetated dune in Sossusvlei, this is an intimate camp for just 12 guests at a time. This is a simple and economical camp located in the heart of the NamibRand Nature Reserve, south of Sossusvlei. In an unspoilt area, the camp offers guests spectacular views and uncomplicated accommodation – a true African wilderness experience.

With 360 degree panoramas, Dunes Lodge is perched on top of a dune plateau, absorbing the breathtaking surroundings of the NamibRand Nature Reserve. This is a peaceful spot to stay, with the flame red desert dunes stretching out before you under the vast open blue skies. Here you can explore every aspect of the Namib Desert, and immerse yourself in the oldest desert in the world.

Located in the Namibrand Nature Reserve in southwest Namibia, Wolwedans is a scenic 6- to 7-hour drive from either Windhoek or Swakopmund if you are self-driving. On a fly-in safari, you’ll take a 1-hour charter flight from Windhoek or Swakopmund to the Wolwedans airstrip, and a 15-minute drive to the camp.

Accommodation & Facilities

There are just six spacious en-suite tented rooms, each built on wooden stilts above the dunes. The canvas windows roll up to reveal spectacular views of the desert, and to let the cool breeze in. Each tent has a Wolwedans Chiller - a small plunge pool to cool down. The main area with the lounge and dining area also have views of the endless dunes.
