June weather & where to go

Once June rolls around, Mozambique's winter is in full swing, bringing with it dry and pleasant weather. This is a great time to visit the Niassa Game Reserve, which opens in June. Although the sea can be slightly windy and choppy, restricting diving, June is still a fantastic time to visit the coastline and enjoy the beaches, vistas and perhaps catch sight of the humpback whale migration.

Santorini Mozambique, Mozambique

June is an ideal time to visit the island of Ibo in Mozambique’s Quirimbas Archipelago. On the 24th the island celebrates the feast of St John the Baptist, showcasing traditional music, dance and dhow racing.

There is also a month-long “summer” holiday in the country running from late June through to July, which can make some locations busy during this period.
