Lodge Details

Secluded bungalows and hilltop dome tents.

Dunes of Dovela is based atop the hills overlooking Manhame beach and the Indian Ocean below.

Accommodation & Facilities

The 3 bungalows and 4 dome tents are all separate and between 40-80m distance from the main area of the hotel. Each is completely private and secluded, leaving each guest feeling exclusive and relaxed.

The circular thatched roof bungalows each have their own unique view of Manhame beach and the ocean, viewable from the windows and private veranda area outside. Each bungalow has an ensuite bathroom complete with bath and a separate toilet and the outdoor shower gives an unbeatable view of the surrounds.

The four dome tents can be set up for singular people, couples or families. Each is pitched on a wooden platform in the hills, again with incredible views of the beach and Indian Ocean below. The outdoor bathroom and seating areas mean you are never too far from the nature and breath-taking views of Mozambique both during the day and evening.

The full board dining at Dunes of Dovela invite you to a buffet breakfast, delicious three course lunch and three course dinner dinner. Meals can be enjoyed in the restaurant, outside on the patio area or on the terrace of your bungalow.

All chefs at the eco lodge are from the local community and all prepare mouth-watering French tropicalized cuisine from a set menu of a starter, main course and dessert, served with tea or coffee.

The produce is all locally sourced, with the vegetables sourced from the gardens on the edge of Dongane Lake and other produce sourced from the organic agricultural project of Onhacongoo, Inharrime or Maxixe.

From June to October, the humpback whale migration passes through Mozambique’s waters and this provides impeccable whale watching and diving opportunities right from Dunes of Dovela. For the less adventurous, there are guided forest walks, village trips and the sandy beach of Manhame.
