Style

Placing you comfortably in the lap of luxury, Coral Lodge blends contemporary design with subtle Mozambican stylistic influences, making deft use of wood, fabric and colour to ensure a calming and relaxing stay by the beach.

Setting

Sitting within a nature reserve at the tip of the Cabaceira Peninsula and looking out at the blue expanse of the Indian Ocean beyond, this lodge’s idyllic location provides both peace and seclusion to the discerning traveller.

Accommodation & Facilities

There are four styles of villa to choose from here at Coral Lodge, each one offering spectacular views and 100m2 of elegant furnishings and top-quality amenities. You can opt to overlook the sand dunes of the adjacent beach or the mangrove forests which frame Ilha de Moçambique across the water. Whichever option you go for, you’ll be able to enjoy your own private deck, outdoor shower, luxurious en-suite bathroom, fully stocked private mini bar and the award-winning Elegant Breeze beds which allow for full climate control during the heat of the evening. Guests can also partake in a selection of professional massage and body treatments or take a dip in the natural seawater swimming pool.

Dining

When dining at Coral Lodge, expect dishes made with fresh seafood caught off the Mozambican coast combined with Portuguese flavours and Asian influences, for a truly unique culinary experience. Barracuda, grouper and sole make for delicious fillets, while squid and octopus can also be prepared for the more adventurous palate. A menu of carefully selected South African wines will complement each meal. You can choose to dine out on your private deck, at the tastefully decorated open-air restaurant or even on the prow of a traditional dhow boat out at sea.

Activities

With the ocean just outside your window, you won’t want to leave here without indulging in one of the many water-based activities available to you. The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Ilha de Moçambique is just 30 minutes away by way of a dhow, but if you wish to stay closer to the lodge you can also hop in a canoe or take advantage of the breeze and head off for a spot of windsurfing. If you’re looking to take it easy, fishing, whale watching and relaxing sunset sailboat rides are just a few more examples of ways you can experience the beauty of the Indian Ocean during your stay here.

Child Policy

Children of all ages are welcome at Coral Lodge, and the hotel provides a number of activities for families to enjoy together. Take the kids for snorkelling lessons, embark on a treasure hunt, canoe through the mangroves or explore the nearby lagoon and coral pools.
