Tutka Bay is an incredible lodge to stay at where you feel as if you are experiencing the true Alaskan wilderness. The lodge is only accessible via boat and the vistas you will see en-route to the lodge are spectacular. Once you arrive at the lodge you can settle into your private cabin and look out from over the fjords, bays and glaciers.

A luxurious lodge with a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.

Setting

Situated 125 air miles from the capital, Anchorage and is reached via boat from Homer- a journey of approximately 30 minutes. Located at the tip of a wild, rugged 7 mile long fjord, the lodge is surrounded by wild coastlines, dramatic fjords and high mountains in Kachemak Bay.

Accommodation & Facilities

There are a total of six individual cabins available at Tutka Bay Lodge; all of which are located within close proximity to the main lodge. All of the cabins have either a private balcony or porch which is a perfect place in which to really appreciate and take in the spectacular panoramas of the surrounding areas including the ocean, mountains and Tutka Bay itself. Both the Oyster Catcher Cabin and the Eagle’s Nest Cabin are ideal for families and have two floors with two bedrooms. Locally sourced woods have a huge presence in all of the cabins from the materials of the cabins itself to the furniture within.

Dining

All your meals are included during your stay at Tutka Bay Lodge and the menu is comprised of locally sourced ingredients and traditional Alaskan dishes. Fresh fish meals can often be found on the menu as salmon is brought to the dock by local fishermen and the staff often visit the local oyster farms to source ingredients. Timings of breakfast can be entirely flexible around how you intend to spend your days here and a packed lunch can be supplied if you are spending the day away from camp. Cheese and wines are available prior to dinner of which the cheeses are flown in from Manhatten.

Activities

There is a myriad of activities available for you to immerse yourself within whether you wish to explore the beautiful waters for sea lions, whales and porpoises, watch sea otters dive for clams or discover mussels and anemones at low tide there is so much to discover within the ocean.  You can also learn to kayak, go rowboating or go deep sea-fishing for halibut. Around the camp you are also able to hike to glacial lakes, meadows and waterfalls.

Child Policy

Children are welcome at Tutka Bay Lodge; children under the age of 12 pay two thirds of the adult rate.
