Day by day

Day 1

Arrive in Galapagos - Chinese Hat Island

Arrive at the airport in Baltra & transfer to the dock. Check-in to your cabin before attending an introductory briefing & safety drill. After lunch on board, you will begin cruising to your first visitor site, Whaler Bay - a beautiful green sand cove at the base of Dragon Hill and Eden Islet, home to a great variety of seabirds and marine iguanas which is also a great snorkelling site. Return on board for a welcome cocktail and dinner and a chance to really get to know your fellow passengers.

Overnight: M/Y Grace L, D

Day 2

Santa Fe & South Plaza Island

In the morning, you visit Santa Fe Island, home to one of the most beautiful and sheltered bays of the archipelago and, with its crystal clear waters, some of the best snorkelling. Certainly one of the best locations to see sea turtles, swim with sea lions and get a glimpse of the Galapagos white-tipped shark.

Overnight: M/Y Grace B, L, D

Day 3

Genovesa Island

Genovesa Island, also known as Tower Island, could serve as a film set for a secret submarine base! The south-western part of the island is an ocean-filled caldera ringed by the outer edges of a sizeable and mostly submerged volcano. The island sits to the northwest, slightly removed from the Galapagos archipelago. It is also known as ‘Bird Island’, a name it lives up to in a spectacular way.

Overnight: M/Y Grace B, L, D

Day 4

Fernandina & Isabela Islands

In the morning, you visit Fernandina Island, home to La Cumbre volcano, which erupts frequently (most recently in April 2009). Visit Punta Espinosa, a narrow spit of land, where a number of unique species, such as marine iguanas, sea lions, flightless cormorants, herons, egrets and Galapagos hawks can be seen in close proximity.

Overnight: M/Y Grace B, L, D

Day 5

Isabela Island

After breakfast you have the chance to visit Tagus Cove on Isabela Island. A wooden stairway rises to the trail entrance and continues around Darwin Lake through a dry vegetation zone and ends in a promontory formed by spatter cones. The site provides spectacular views of our anchorage in the bay, as well as Darwin and Wolf Volcanoes. In the afternoon, head north to Punta Vicente Roca. Snorkelling is incredible here as a result of the nutrient-rich waters of the Humboldt Current that bathe the western side of the archipelago. You will have a chance to see colourful fish, sea lions, penguins and sea turtles in the water. This is also a great spot to take an interesting panga ride to spot wildlife along the shores and cliffs.

Overnight: M/Y Grace B, L, D

Day 6

Santa Cruz Island

Enjoy breakfast on board before disembarking and heading Puerto Ayora for a visit to the Charles Darwin Research Station accompanied by an expert guide. During your visit you will gain an insight into the huge efforts being made by scientists, guides, rangers and park managers to preserve this UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will have the opportunity to see the famous Galapagos tortoises, namesake of these famous islands. Shortly after, take a bus ride to the highlands of Santa Cruz to see wild giant tortoises. Return on board for lunch followed by an afternoon of free time to explore.

Overnight: M/Y Grace B, L, D

Day 7

Espanola Island

After breakfast visit Punta Suarez, Española Island. As you walk further inland, Nazca and blue-footed boobies nest near the trail and the trail continues towards a blowhole, which is a fissure in the lava where water spurts high into the air like a geyser. After lunch visit Gardner Bay on Española Island for swimming, snorkelling or kayaking. Gardner Bay offers the chance to enjoy a wonderful white sandy beach. It is home to one of the most important colonies of sea lions, and it is also a nesting site for sea turtles. Return to the boat for a farewell cocktail and dinner.

Overnight: M/Y Grace B, L, D

Day 8

Depart Mosquera Island

Before breakfast take an optional panga ride to Mosquera Islet. Mosquera Islet is a tiny islet, home to a huge population of sea lions and also home to many shorebirds. While at Mosquera, keep your eyes peeled as there are occasional sightings of dolphins and orcas. After breakfast attend a Galapagos documentary screened in the main lounge followed by snacks in the al fresco dining area before disembarking for your airport transfer.
