Akademik Shokalskiy

The Akademik Shokalskiy is an intimate, ice strengthened ship which is ideal for small ship explorations of the polar regions including Russia and Antarctica.

About the Akademik Shokalskiy

The Akademik Shokalskiy, sister ship to the Spirit of Enderby, was built in 1984 for polar and oceanographic research, and is now the complete expedition vessel! With room for just 48 passengers, the Akademik Shokalskiy is able to offer true, small ship exploration of the polar regions. The ship is small enough to manoeuvre through specific waters but is ice strengthened, ensuring that all her passengers are extremely safe.

The ship offers an open bridge policy allowing you to enjoy the exceptional views alongside the Captain. In addition, all cabins are outward facing, increasing your chances to view the incredible wildlife!
