A luxurious tented camp with an intimate atmosphere.

Located on the banks of Lake Kariba within the Matusadona National Park.

Accommodation & Facilities

The camp consists of six tents and two family size tents all of which are en-suite with an outdoor bath shower, so you can enjoy a shower under the stars whilst listening to the wildlife which surrounds you. The term tent is used very loosely here as they are more like material chalets with their double beds and polished floors.

There is a large communal area within the camp complete with a dining room, bar, lounge and library. The deck around the swimming pool is a wonderful place to relax or have a siesta after your morning game drive; there is also a fire pit on the lower deck which is an extremely romantic setting for a refreshing sundowner.

Throughout the camp there is internet facilities although minimal telephone services. There is a daily laundry service and your clothes will be returned to you that same evening- weather permitting.

All meals and drinks are included at the Changa Safari Camp including picnic spread out on the bonnet of your 4x4 to spectacular traditional dinners which can take place in the communal area or al fresco on the beach. The main ingredients are sourced locally from the meats, fish and organic vegetables. Mealtimes offer the perfect opportunity to share your adventures with your fellow explorers although private, moonlit dinners can be arranged- perfect for honeymooners.

The main focus at Changa is upon the flora and fauna which live in and around the camp; extremely knowledgeable and experienced guides take you out into the bush either in the specially adapted safari vehicles or guided walks. With the Matusadona National Park on the camp’s doorstep it is possible to spot lions, leopards, hyenas and even cheetah.

Child Policy

Children over the age of 12 are welcome at the Changa Safari Camp although it must be considered that this is an unfenced camp where wildlife can wander in at any time and there are no specific facilities designed for children. Ideally it would be more suited to children aged 16 and above.
