lodge details
Style
The newly refurbished lodge has been furnished and styled with contemporary minimalism and African fusion design in mind, providing an elegant and calming backdrop to your stay here.
Setting
Bumi Hills lies just over 30 miles from the town of Kariba, overlooking the lake of the same name; it's also just a short distance away from the borders of Matusadona National Park.
Accommodation & Facilities
There are 10 rooms and two premium suites on offer here, all with spectacular views of Lake Kariba and its game-rich shoreline. Each of the rooms comes with an en-suite bathroom as well as a fan and refrigerator to keep you cool during the warm Zimbabwe evenings. You'll be able to make use of the lodge's gym, spa, library and game room, as well as the outdoor infinity pool and bar/dining deck area where guests can look out over Kariba's shimmering blue waters.
Dining
The excellent cuisine here can be enjoyed either in the well-appointed tea room or out on the deck, where you can take in the warm air and uninterrupted vistas of Lake Kariba and the shoreline beyond.
Activities
There are plenty of activities to partake in here, both on the lake and on land. You can head out in a private boat and try your hand at catching the fearsome tigerfish, or take things easy with a sunset cruise or scenic lakeside walk. You can also choose to head deeper into the bush in search of fossilised dinosaur footprints, or take a game drive either to the Bumi Hills private concession or nearby Matusadona National Park, in search of lions, elephants, leopards, buffalo, and the rare black rhino. Lake Kariba also attracts its fair share of wildlife, including hippos, Nile crocodiles and flocks of birds. For something a little different, try a visit to a local village where you can learn about traditional Tonga culture.
Child Policy
All ages are welcome at Bumi Hills Safari Lodge.
