about lango camp

Nestled into the South Central section of the Republic of Congo’s Odzala-Kokoua National Park, Lango Camp gives guests the opportunity to explore the rainforest in seclusion. Built using naturally sourced, local materials and inspired by the designs of the local Ba’Aka Pygmy Groups, the camp blends into its surroundings for minimum environmental impact.

Secluded within dense gallery forest, each of the rooms overlooks the productive Lango Bai from a wrap around viewing walkway.

lodge details

Style

An intimate, sustainable and creative camp.

Setting

On the edge of the savannah, with access to the Lekoli and Mambili Rivers, in Odzala-Kokoua National Park, in the remote north of the Republic of Congo.

Accommodation & Facilities

There are just 6 rooms, each creatively designed, and inspired by the designs of the local Ba’Aka Pygmy groups, with the lightest footprint possible. Materials have been sustainably sourced, e.g. hardwood, bamboo and raffia palm for matting. These same sustainable materials have been used to construct hides at the bais where you can sit and watch for the forest wildlife. Each room has a 360 degree wrap around walkway for amazing views of the bewildering diversity found in this area of the Republic of Congo.

Dining

The food here is really good, and you can dine outdoors.

Activities

These range from gorilla tracking and game drives in the savannah, to pirogue rides along the river systems and forest stream walks. You can also enjoy night drives here and, of course, spend time watching the busy forest bai’s wildlife. You will need to be fit and healthy to stay here as activities can be quite strenuous.

Child Policy

Children over 15 welcome.
