Accommodation & Facilities
Using the term 'tent' extremely loosely each of the five meru-style rooms are complete with wooden framed double or twin beds, bedside tables and even hurricane lamps. The sides of the tents are rolled up easily in order to give you an incredible view of the plains outside. There is also an en-suite bathroom adjacent to each room comprised of a flush toilet and hot bucket shower- available as and when requested.
There is a communal mess tent usually set up in the middle of the camp; there is a table and chairs inside which can be used for reading in between game drives or exchanging stories with your fellow explorers. Laundry is included at Savute Under Canvas and weather permitting will be back to you that same day.
Meal times at Savute are a communal affair often taking place beneath the stars beside the camp fire. Breakfast and lunch are served in a buffet style with a range of freshly made vegetarian and meat dishes. Dinner is a little more formal usually consisting of a three course meal including a soup, traditional main course and a dessert. All meals are included within your stay at Savute Under Canvas.
The focus at Savute Under Campus is being in the right place at the right time to see as much game and local wildlife as possible. Being positioned within the Chobe National Park each of the daily game drives take place in the camps own 4x4 safari vehicles which are open sided. With a maximum of six guests per vehicle it ensures that everyone has their own window seat.
Children over the age of 12 are welcome at Savute Under Canvas but it should be noted that there are no facilities for children and that it is an unfenced bushcamp with numerous wild animals roaming freely. Children should be supervised at all times.
