Setting

Right on the seafront of Stone Town, in the ‘Old Town’ of Zanzibar City, access is via a 7 kilometre taxi ride from Zanzibar Airport.

Accommodation & Facilities

All rooms and suites are constructed in a traditional Swahili style, with high ceilings dictated by the length of the mangrove poles, shuttered windows and cool white walls. They feature traditional furnishings, four-poster beds and antique plates, all subtly unique. Many accommodations have louver doors leading to balconies, some with huge free-standing hammocks.

All accommodations have 24 hour room service, Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, a mini bar, TV and private safe, as well as hairdryers, mosquito nets, bathrobe and slippers. The choice of suites ranges from Executive to Honeymoon, and there are also ‘Prime’ rooms and ‘Standard’ rooms.

There is a pool for use of guests, overlooked by indoor and outdoor seating where you can grab snacks and drinks. A shuttle to and from the airport is available to all guests.

Dining

There is a large range of dining options, from the Baharia Restaurant, serving international and Swahili cuisine and the Terrace Restaurant, serving sublime seafood, to the Beach Barbeque and Coffee Shop.

Activities

Explore a range of pristine beaches, enjoy a traditional dhow sundowner or head out dolphin and whale spotting. Explore the labyrinth of winding lanes, alive with busy people and surrounded by Arabian arches, circular towers and overhanging balconies, where you will find curio shops, art galleries, spice troves and bazaars. Points of interest include the old dhow port, the Portuguese Fort, the Old Slave Market and the House of Wonders.
