About Kigelia Ruaha, Ruaha National Park

Kigelia Ruaha is situated within the Ruaha National Park, making the likelihood of seeing game (especially the big 5) incredibly high. This intimate camp based next to the Ifuguru River is available to book by room or exclusively which is ideal for families or small groups travelling together.

Kigelia means `Sausage trees` and is representative of the small grove in which the camp is based.

Setting

Set within the Ruaha National Park directly on the banks of the Ifuguru sand river.

Accommodation & Facilities

The six naturally coloured tents have been specifically positioned and designed to blend into its natural surroundings; with the intention of causing a minimal effect upon the area. Within each of the tents there is a large double bed and rustic furnishings- in line with the environmental feel of the camp. Each tent has an en-suite bathroom complete with a flushing toilet and bucket showers.

Within the centre of the camp there is a communal mess tent which is perfect for relaxing in after an exciting day of exploring. It is rustically furnished just like the tents; with sofas, chairs and a dinner table.

Dining

All meals are included at Kigelia Ruaha; the menu is an imaginative blend of both local and international dishes. As many ingredients as possible are locally sourced from the meats, fruit and vegetables. The location of your mealtimes will depend on the weather either taking place within the communal mess tent or beneath the stars with a high potential for uninvited guests to arrive!

Activities

The camp has its own 4x4 safari vehicle which can be used for any morning and evening game drives, there are no schedules ensuring your stay is tailored exactly to your preferences. The camps guides can also take you on guided walks around Ruaha National Park to give you a different perspective of the amazing flora and fauna in the surrounding areas.

Child Policy

Children above the age of eight are welcome to stay at Kigelia Ruaha, however the camp is recommended for older children. Please note that the minimum age to take part in a walking safari is 12 years.
