The ideal place to completely unwind and distant yourself from urban life, with a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere.
Setting
In an extremely remote location based on Pemba Island, only accessed by speedboat or private plane.
Accommodation & Facilities
The 18 rooms are described as tented but are more like bungalows with material sides. All are en-suite and many have their own plunge pools. There are rooms on the beach itself merely a stone’s throw away from the water as well as, other submerged in the forest which have stunning vistas as they are a little higher up than the beachfront- still only a minute’s walk from the ocean.
The lodge’s rooftop infinity pool is a spectacular spot for relaxing with a drink and admiring the stunning backdrop of Pemba Island. There are many other communal areas to unwind in from the games room with pool table to the jetty bar (perfect at sunset).
There is free Wi-Fi within all of the communal areas as well as, a free laundry service.
Dining
There is a buffet breakfast including croissants, fresh fruit and juices- cooked breakfasts can also be ordered. All of the meals are made using locally sourced ingredients and are served in an open palm- thatched dining area with panoramas over the forest and the ocean.
Activities
Being on an island naturally, there are many water-based activities available. There is an opportunity to gain a qualification in diving; a 4 day PADI open water course, Pemba Island has many beautiful diving sites and with their own diving boat they are all within easy reach of the lagoon. For the more adventurous you can try your hand at wakeboarding, windsurfing or kayaking.
Child Policy
Children over 12 are welcome at Fundu Lagoon however, the lodge is not specifically designed for children.
