Growing up along KwaZulu Natal’s beautiful Dolphin Coast, Carina’s love for Africa was nurtured on fishing trips in the Kafue in Zambia with her father, camping expeditions through Zimbabwe and journeying to many areas of South Africa. After school, she studied wildlife conservation, worked as environmental education officer on a small private game reserve in KZN, for the Jerusalem Conservation Department in Wadi David near the Dead Sea, and at Shamwari Game Reserve in Eastern Cape.
Returning to Africa after 4 years travelling, Carina combined her love of wildlife and love for travel designing tours around subjects ranging from Anthropology and Astronomy to elaborate car launches for Rolls Royce and conferences for Harvard Alumni. During this time she visited over 20 game lodges in the Kruger, travelled in East Africa, Mozambique and Botswana, with Tanzania becoming a particular favourite.
Carina returned to the UK to marry. Her interest in scuba-diving took her to a job with a diving specialist and she has since travelled to Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, sailing in the Caribbean and Thailand, the islands of Seychelles, re-visited Tanzania and South Africa, explored Madagascar and spent time in Zambia.
Carina has been involved in volunteer work, charity fundraising, championing fair trade travel and is a former trustee of Tourism Concern: action for ethical tourism.
Now Brighton based with a young daughter to share her passion for travel with, Carina enjoys great satisfaction and pleasure from helping people to realise their dream journeys to her home continent of Africa.
