About Santa Juana Lodge

Location, location, location. Nature-lovers need look no further than Santa Juana Lodge for their next safari, as the vistas here are simply spectacular. From your vantage point among the handful of hillside cabins, you’ll be able to see clear across the lush forests that stretch all the way to the coastline and Manuel Antonio National Park, but the wealth of flora and fauna just outside your window isn’t to be overlooked either.

Make a stop here if you’re looking for a comfortable base from which to explore central Costa Rica.

Style

Perfect for those wanting to get away from it all and commune with the natural world, the charming cabins at Santa Juana Lodge have been built to cause the least disruption possible to the surrounding landscape.

Setting

Costa Rica lies not far from the equator, which means the vegetation is always vibrant here. Luckily, Santa Juana Lodge is situated within a gorgeous nature reserve, so whether you’re pottering around your cabin, sitting down at the restaurant or trekking a trail, greenery will be everywhere you look.

Accommodation & Facilities

Each one of the private cabins here comes complete with a seating and dining area, as well as an en-suite bathroom and kitchenette equipped with refrigerator and coffee machine. The cabins are situated on a natural hillside terrace, a position which offers quite spectacular views of the verdant landscape that surrounds Santa Juana Lodge. Inside, the high-vaulted ceilings and liberal use of sustainably sourced wood lends an open, airy and natural feel to the accommodation that will make you feel right at home here in the rainforest. Some of the cabins also have a balcony and/or patio.

Dining

Every night you can enjoy traditional Costa Rican cuisine prepared by the villagers of Santa Juana in the rustic Mirador restaurant, with stunning views of the reserve's densely forested hills as a backdrop.

Activities

There’s no shortage of things to do while staying here. You can tour Cloudmaker Nature Reserve and contribute to the lodge’s native tree reforestation program, swing through the forest canopies on ziplines, tour a local coffee plantation, take a dip in the natural pool fed by a picturesque waterfall, and go birdwatching in search of colourful species like storks, guans, toucans, aracaris and caracaras.
