STYLE

An eco aware and luxurious beach hotel, surrounded by tropical vegetation on a beautiful beach.

SETTING

Situated on Playa Tamarindo, the hotel is adjacent to Las Baulas Marine National Park, one of the most important places for giant Leatherback turtles. There is a domestic airport in the village and the ocean here is considered very safe due to its mild currents.

ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES

All rooms and suites have a balcony or terrace facing the ocean, overlooking the tropical gardens. Each room is air conditioned or fitted with a ceiling fan and has comfortable, tasteful furnishings. The 22 rooms can be booked on the ground floor with air conditioning or on the 1st floor with ceiling fans. Every room is fitted with a small refrigerator, safe, radio and a spacious closet. Bathrooms are spacious with a large shower, hair dryer and beautifully fluffy towels.

There are 7 bungalows, each as a free standing unit, set into the lush surroundings. These units all have living areas, an outdoor shower - a wonderfully natural thing to experience, and a double whirlpool in the bathroom. The four bedroom suite is great for families or larger groups; it has two bathrooms, one with a whirlpool, shower and bidet, the other with a shower. The honeymoon bungalow features a living area with sliding doors which open out onto a spacious terrace. The bed is ‘nested’ and there is 90 metres square of private tropical garden for you to enjoy from the hammock or private table, great for romantic candle-lit dinners. The bathroom has an outdoor shower and a double whirlpool, and a bottle of champagne will be waiting to welcome you!

The gardens attract a variety of wildlife, from howler monkeys and wild birds to iguanas and armadillos and the professional spa provides wonderfully relaxing and sumptuous treatments. There is also a free from swimming pool, fitness corner, gift shop, information desk and internet corner.

In the nearby town there are domestic airlines, banks, a gym, doctor and plenty of bars, restaurants and shopping.

DINING

The hotels restaurant and bar provides a la carte dining, serving European cuisine with a tropical twist. Food is made from fresh ingredients and, during the dry season you can enjoy barbeques and private dinners by candle light on the beach.

ACTIVITIES

Guests can hike through the foothills in Rincon de la Vieja National Park where you will find the nearest active volcano, visit Palo Verde National Park by boat, a very important nesting and feeding site for birds in Costa Rica, or head to Arenal Volcano National Park through the beautiful tropical rainforest. There is also a tour of the canopy and hot springs, trips to the Tenorio Volcano and Barra Honda National Parks and easy raft rides through the Corobici River. Guests who wish to visit local villages may head to Guaitil and San Vicente, where local craftsmen are still practising the traditions of the indigenous people, making pots and other clay objects.
