Day by day

Day 1

Arrive Longyearbyen

Today you will arrive in Longyearbyen where you will be met and embark the M/S Expedition - your home for the next 7 or 10 nights.

Overnight: M/S Expedition (D)

Days 2-10

Spitsbergen Archipelago

During your Arctic journey you will visit various sites around the Spitsbergen Archipelago by expedition ship, Zodiac and on foot. The exact itinerary is subject to change owing to local ice, wildlife and weather conditions. Each day will be planned to take advantage of the climate and locations of the wildlife. Svalbard is one of the few places on the planet that offers such a wealth of natural and cultural diversity. Whilst here you will visit ice-covered seas, breath-taking fjords and glaciers flowing into the sea. A bird lover's paradise, the Spitsbergen Archipelago offers fantastic opportunities to see ivory gulls, kittiwakes, little auks and, weather permitting, thousands of guillemots on the immense bird cliffs. Arctic fauna is also on the agenda as you look out for polar bears hunting seals, walrus hauled out on ice floes, Svalbard’s unique subspecies of reindeer and much more. In addition to wildlife you will visit historic sites of war, whaling, trapping and coal mining. The evening of the last full day of adventure will find the expedition ship anchored off Longyearbyen.

Overnight: M/S Expedition (B, L, D)

Day 11

Depart Longyearbyen

This morning you will disembark the M/S Expedition after breakfast, say your goodbyes and begin your journey home.
