An incredible Arctic safari experience taking to you to a remote area of pristine wilderness by Hudson Bay. Accessed only by private charter plane, Nanuk Polar Bear Lodge is located close to a polar bear denning area increasing the opportunity to see mothers and cubs, and a whole host of other Arctic wildlife including wolves, black bears and moose. Expert guides help you explore the Arctic tundra for incredible wildlife encounters.

Day by day

Day 1

Arrive Winnipeg

Arrive in Winnipeg and transfer to your centrally located hotel. At 7pm a dinner will be held at the hotel where you will meet your group and adventure specialist. You will need your rest tonight for your early morning departure to Churchill.

Day 2

Winnipeg - Nanuk Polar Bear Lodge

Your first tundra hike will take place this afternoon where you will be introduced to the wonders of this pristine wilderness.   After a long day you can look forward to some tasty appetizers and a selection of Canadian wines to keep you going until dinner. In the evening, you are served delicious northern cuisine prepared from locally sourced ingredients that will keep you taste buds tingling. On clear nights you may be rewarded with spectacular dancing displays of the Aurora Borealis.

Days 3-5

Nanuk Polar Bear Lodge

Depending on the movements of the polar bears and other Arctic wildlife you may enjoy some of the following activities: an ATV coastal tour to the tidal flats and Hudson Bay shoreline where lunch is typically served around a campfire; coastal exploration of Hudson Bay to photograph the polar bears and other abundant wildlife in their unique landscape; exploring the river deltas and coastal eskers or discovering the area close to the lodge in search of the King of the Arctic. The evenings are filled with informative presentations on the ecosystems and unique wildlife of the surrounding areas.

Day 6

Nanuk Polar Bear Lodge - Winnipeg

The rest of the day is free to explore Churchill. Cape Merry, the Port of Churchill, the Eskimo Museum, the Polar Bear Holding Compound (otherwise known as the Polar Bear Jail) and the Park Canada exhibit are all worth a visit. Later this evening you board your flight back to Winnipeg. Met on arrival you are transferred back to your hotel and have an evening to reminisce the past few days of incredible wildlife experiences in the Arctic.

Day 7

Depart Winnipeg

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport in time for your onward flight home.
