Safari Overview

Heading south, venture into an untouched, pristine wilderness that still overwhelms the expedition leaders who have traversed the land before. Prepare yourself for an extraordinary adventure with opportunities for sea kayaking, camping on the ice and even ski touring. Here you can relax as much as you like, as well as venturing on various hiking and outdoor pursuits, followed by sumptuous cuisine and a comfortable night's sleep aboard the Akademik Ioffe.

What makes this trip extraordinary?

  • Immerse yourself into the Antarctic wilderness and stand on the continent.
  • Sea kayak alongside vast icebergs, spending two nights away from the ship camping.
  • Explore via ski touring (travelling through snow covered terrain on skis both uphill and downhill).
  • Encounter the wildlife of Antarctica including large penguin colonies, Weddell seals and elephant seals.

Get off the ‘tourist trail’ and explore the lesser-seen parts of Antarctica.
