Day by day

Day 1

Arrive Rio de Janeiro

Today you will arrive into the vibrant city of Rio de Janeiro, where upon arrival you will be met by our local representative and transferred to your hotel on the world-famous Copacabana Beach. The rest of the day is yours to relax or explore the beach, or wander around the winding streets of the art district of Santa Teresa.

Day 2

Rio de Janeiro

This morning you will embark on a tour of the colourful streets and historic buildings of the old centre of Rio de Janeiro, which was once the capital of the Portuguese Empire. Afterwards, you will head to Praia Vermelha to catch a cable car up to Sugar Loaf Mountain, enjoying stunning birds-eye views over the city and across the bay of Rio de Janeiro. You will also reach the summit of the famous Corcovado Mountain, providing great views of the city's iconic Christ the Redeemer statue.

Day 3

Rio de Janeiro - Northern Pantanal

After brekfast this morning you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Cuiaba, where you will be met by your guide and driven south to Pocone. From here, you will travel through the northern Pantanal along the Transpantaneira Highway to Porto Jofre, witnessing families of capybara and flocks of waterbirds en route. From Porto Jofre you will catch a boat to your hotel.

Days 4-5

Northern Pantanal

You will spend the next two days exploring the Pantanal wetlands from your base in Porto Jofre. You will have two boat outings per day, searching for jaguars, giant river otters, caimans and other wildlife along the Three Brothers, Cuaiba and Piquiri Rivers. Jaguars can often be seen resting or hunting along the river bank, and your expert guides know all of the best places for spotting this elusive big cat.

Day 6

Northern Pantanal - Campo Grande

This morning you will enjoy your final jaguar excursion before heading back north along the Transpantaneira Highway to Cuiaba, where you will board a flight to the city Campo Grande. Transfer to your hotel in the city centre, where the rest of the day is yours to relax.

Day 7

Campo Grande - Southern Pantanal

Today you will be driven (approximately 2.5 hours) to Aquidauana, where you will take a panoramic charter flight over the Pantanal to your lodge, just in time for lunch. In the afternoon, set off on your first foray into the southern Pantanal...

Days 8-10

Southern Pantanal

Spend the next three days exploring the southern region of the Pantanal wetlands; head out on nature walks with your expert guides, explore the waterways by boat, enjoy game drives and horseriding excursions, and even try your hand at piranha fishing. Cruise along the dark waters of the Rio Negro, one of the most pristine rivers in the Pantanal, looking out for giant river otters, capybaras, giant anteaters and, of course, jaguars. In the evenings, relax around the campfire at your lodge as you reminisce about the days adventures.

Day 11

Southern Pantanal - Iguassu Falls

This morning, board your charter flight back to Campo Grande and catch your connecting flight to Iguassu Falls. Upon arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel, located on the Brazilian side of the falls.

Day 12

Iguassu Falls

Today you will explore the Brazilian side of the Iguassu Falls with your guide. There are approximately 275 separate waterfalls scattered amongst the surrounding tropical forests, with the Brazilian side offering a more panoramic view over the falls. For an additional cost, you can also opt to take a spectacular helicopter flight over the falls, taking in their sheer size and scale. In the afternoon, you will have some free time to relax or explore the rainforests.

Day 13

Iguassu Falls

This morning you will meet your guide again for a tour of the Argentinian side of the falls. The Argentinian falls lie within the Iguassu National Park, an extensive area of rainforest with many paths that take you to within touching distance of the falls, including the largest and most spectacular of all the cascades: Garganta del Diablo (the Devil's Throat). Following your tour, the rest of the day is at leisure for you to enjoy a boat trip, discover the local flora and fauna or simply relax. This evening, enjoy a caipirinha to celebrate your final night in Brazil!

Day 14

Depart Iguassu Falls

This morning you will be met and transferred to the airport for your flight to Sao Paulo, where you will catch your international flight home.
