Day by day

Day 1

Arrive Cochin

Today you will arrive in Cochin, where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Known as the 'Queen of the Arabian Sea', Cochin was an important spice trading centre on the historic spice route and is now a bustling port city on India's west coast.

Day 2


Today you will have the opportunity to explore the characterful city of Cochin. The rich and diverse history of Kerala can be seen in the different cultural influences in the architecture and cuisine. Wander the narrow streets of the old city, full of antique and spice shops, art galleries and small cafes, and watch as the fishing boats pull in just before sunset.

Day 3

Cochin - Munnar

Today you will be transferred to Munnar (approximately 4 hours drive), a hill station offering breathtaking views over the surrounding hills and lush green tea gardens. The rest of the day is yours to relax in your beautiful surroundings.

Day 4


After an early breakfast, you will head out for a city tour of Munnar. Enjoy a gentle walk in Harrissons Malayalam tea plantations and a visit to the orthodox tea making factory as you take in the serene atmosphere and cool mountain breeze.

Day 5

Munnar - Thekkady

This morning you will be driven to Periyar National Park (approximately 3.5 hours), renowned for its Asian elephant population and picturesque landscapes.

Days 6-7

Periyar National Park

Spend the next few days exploring the beautiful Periyar National Park. Set around the massive Lake Periyar, wildlife viewing is done from a boat on the lake in the mornings and evenings. The abundant wildlife of the park is attracted to the lakeside, and it is possible to see herds of elephants coming to drink, as well as large groups of deer and wild boar, Indian bison, and a variety of monkey and indigenous bird species. Although tigers are known to inhabit the forests of Periyar, they are rarely seen by visitors.

Day 8

Thekkady - Alleppey

Today you will head to the famous Kerala backwaters, as you depart Periyar National Park to Alleppey jetty, where you will board your houseboat for an overnight cruise. Sail through the backwaters, passing rice fields, tiny villages and farmers taking their produce to market, giving you an authentic glimpse into daily life in Kerala. Traditional lunch and dinner will be served on board your boat; possibly on a banana leaf in true Keralan style.

Day 9

Alleppey - Muhamma

After a leisurely breakfast, you will be transferred to your hotel in Muhamma. The rest of the day is yours to relax and enjoy all the facilities on offer at the hotel.

Day 10


Today is at your leisure; spend the day relaxing after your safari or explore the surrounding areas, and enjoy the swimming pool and spa on offer at your hotel.

Day 11

Muhamma - Cochin - Depart

This morning you will be driven to Cochin airport (approximately 2 hours) in time for your international flight home.
