Day 1

Arrive Cape Town

Upon arrival at Cape Town International Airport you will be met and whisked away in the stylish comfort of your private sedan to Ellerman House, an elegant and luxurious place to base yourself in beautiful Bantry Bay, just ten minutes from the city centre. This exuberant and historic mansion offers the finest views of the Atlantic seaboard, whether you choose to stay within the opulent house itself, or in the art gallery style villa, you are guaranteed to be completely enchanted. The property is adorned with the finest 20th century South African art, and for those who are more concerned with their stomachs, the gourmet cuisine is unbeatable, topped only by the 7,500 strong wine list. Integrating cutting-edge design and unique sculptural elements the new Ellerman House Wine Gallery showcases the extensive, award-winning wine collection and offers guests a unique, interactive journey into the world of wine. Late afternoon you will be hosted in this signature Wine & Canapés Experience which includes a selection of 4 wines served with 4 gourmet tapas dishes especially paired with the wine selection. Day 3

Cape Winelands Exclusive

Meet another highly specialised wine guide and set off on a private full day wine tour of the Cape Winelands. Estates that may be top on today’s tasting agenda include Tokara, La Motte, Jordan and Delaire Graff Estate. DeMorgenzon is among the most extraordinary of them all and best known for its sublime Chenin Blanc. Winemaker, Hylton Appelbaum, takes the unusual but effective approach of playing baroque music to select plots of vines in his vineyards – which, he says, have rewarded them with perfect fruit. Enjoy lunch in Franschhoek surrounded by majestic mountains with slopes dressed in vines. The quaint village high street boasts an enticing range of shops from chocolatiers, artisan bakeries, fromageries and flower shops, to craft, curio and art galleries. Explore at your leisure before returning to your glorious base at Ellerman House.

Day 4

Heaven & Earth Winelands Exclusive

For your final day in the winelands, explore the HEMEL-EN-AARDE valleys (Heaven & Earth) on a private full day wine tour. Visit some of the most spectacular vineyards in this famous valley surrounded by the majestic Overberg mountains. Hamilton Russell Vineyards are a small and impressive producer of cool-climate, elegant wines in the beautiful expanse of Walker Bay. Producing possibly the best Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in the cape, these Burgundian specialists at Hermanus certainly grow the two varieties to near perfection. Hermanus is renowned as one of the best whale watching destinations in the world with huge southern right whales coming into the bay between the months of May and December. From the vantage point of the town you can often sit and watch several whales breaching out in the bay. Return to Cape Town to refresh in time for a further culinary foray into the city’s many top class restaurants.

Day 5

Cape Town – Sabi Sands

You will be transferred to Cape Town Airport for the morning flight to Nelspruit (not included) and a short flight hop (included) into the Sabi Sands Game Reserve. You will be met at the airstrip for a game drive transfer to the award-winning Sabi Sabi Earth Lodge set within a private 8,000 hectare wildlife reserve. Sculpted deep into the natural landscape, Earth Lodge takes its cue from nature – textures, colours, light, space all reflecting the lodge’s surrounding bushveld. Earth Lodge is at once an outstanding safari destination, art gallery, meditation garden; and home to an underground wine cellar with a collection of over 6000 bottles of delicious, unexpected and carefully selected fine wines and champagnes. Settle in to your lodgings, enjoy lunch before setting off on your first game drive. Follow in the footsteps of African pioneers into the heart of the bush as you track leopard, lion, rhino, buffalo and elephant.

Days 6-7

Sabi Sands Reserve

Spend the next two days exploring this wildlife-rich area by day, and sampling the fine wines by night (outstanding house-wine selection included, premier wine list at additional cost). Enjoy morning and afternoon game drives inside the Sabi Sands Private Game Reserve, home to the Big Five and more. The oldest and arguably most established and successful of Kruger’s private game reserves, the Sabi Sands sits adjacent to Kruger National Park on its western border and with no boundary fences the wildlife is free to roam between the reserves and the Kruger National Park. Sabi Sands is renowned as one of the best places in Africa to see leopards. Named after the rivers that dissect the reserve into four quarters, many would say it is the experience of staying in some of South Africa’s most revered lodges, combined with some of the best game viewing to be had that embodies the Sabi Sands experience.

Day 8

Depart South Africa
