Day by day

Day 1

Nairobi - Olare Orok Conservancy

Upon arrival into Nairobi International Airport (JKIA), you will be met by your private professional driver/guide and private 4x4 vehicle and transferred to Wilson Airport to catch your scheduled flight to the Ol Kiombo airstrip in the Masai Mara National Reserve (10:00 - 11:00). From here, you will be met and transferred (approximate 45 minute drive) to the wonderfully located Topi House. The house borders both the 23,000 acre Olare Orok Conservancy and the unrivalled eastern side of the Masai Mara National Game Reserve. Following your arrival at Topi House, you will have time to relax before heading out on your first private game drive this afternoon.

Overnight: Topi House D

Days 2-3

Masai Mara Reserve

Your days are spent experiencing the magic of the Masai Mara Reserve with your private professional driver/guide and private 4x4 vehicle. A variety of game can be seen in this region with some huge herds of wildebeest and zebra passing through in migration season; this results in stable numbers of predators throughout the year so you should be in for some good game viewing! Huge hippos and large crocodiles can be found lazing around in the waters of the Mara River. Here, you can explore the wilderness and the rolling hills on your own terms, in the company of your personal Masai guide. Cultural visits to the nearby Masai communities just outside the reserve as well as bush breakfasts, bush picnics and sundowners with a view can also be arranged as well as hot air balloon safaris (needs to be pre-booked in advance at an additional cost).

Overnight: Topi House B, L, D

Day 4

Olare Orok - Mara North Conservancy

This morning, you are transferred to Acacia House in the Ol Chorro Losoit valley amongst the Lemek hills within the Mara North Conservancy area. Throughout the year great numbers of herbivores such as elephants, giraffes, zebras, Thomson’s gazelles and impalas seek the area for water and grazing and the big cat predators are never far away!

Overnight: Acacia House B, L, D

Days 5-6

Olare Orok Conservancy

Spend two full days enjoying all that this fantastic Ol Chorro Losoit valley has to offer. You will be taken on private game drives around Mara North Conservancy in search for the resident game including the big cats. You will also have the opportunity to go on walking safaris and night drives, neither of which are possible in the main Mara Reserve. Walking safaris are a fantastic way to explore the bush as you will see far more on foot then you do in a vehicle. Night drives are also a must on any safari as this is when the big cats start to hunt. The bush is a completely different place at night and the sights and sounds make for a very interesting drive! The migration is a great time to visit the Mara; with the wildebeest moving into the Mara Plains the other wildlife tend to move out into the conservancies making game viewing in the North Conservancy even better than usual. The Mara North Conservancy is one of the most densely populated wildlife areas within the Masai Mara Ecosystem. Mara North Conservancy is also home to the world famous Leopard Gorge! Five prides of lions, seven cheetah and at least six leopards have made the conservancy their homeland making your chances of spotting them very likely! Once again, you can explore this wilderness in the company of your personal Masai guide on your own terms. Cultural visits to the nearby Masai communities just outside the reserve can also be arranged. Guests with an interest in community conservation are more than welcome to participate in the local projects, including the computer training for local villagers at the nearby Trust classroom. Bush breakfasts, bush picnics and sundowners with a view can also be arranged.

Overnight: Acacia House B, L, D

Day 7

Mara North - Kenyan Coast

This morning you will be driven to the Ngerende airstrip where you will catch your internal flight out of the Mara North Conservancy and to the Diani airstrip (14:00 - 16:00). Upon arrival you will be met and transferred by road and boat to the tropical small island of Funzi Keys. Here, you will sit back, relax and reminisce after your adventures.

Days 8-11

Kenyan Coast

You will have four days to relax and unwind after your Kenya safari on this picturesque private island. Funzi is tucked away on an un-spoilt island in the Indian Ocean. The Funzi Keys’ unique appeal is its luxurious seclusion and beautiful natural scenery. The island is surrounded by water and is superbly located on a west-facing beach with glorious views of the African sunset. This truly is a beautifully remote and exclusive hideaway; the perfect place to escape from the outside world and relax after the adventures of the last few days. There is also plenty to do whilst at Funzi Keys, if you are feeling up to it, you can go sailing, windsurfing or canoeing. The Funzi Keys also provide boat trips up the Ramisi River and around Funzi creek where you may be able to spot kingfishers, crocodiles and even dolphins! There is a dive centre near the hotel too. (All the above activities are extras and payable direct to Funzi Keys). If however you feel like relaxing, there is no better place to do it than on the Mazeras stone deck by the pool!

Day 12

Kenyan Coast - Nairobi

Spend the morning relaxing by the pool (check-out is at 1000hrs). After lunch you will be transferred to Diani Airstrip by road and boat for your flight to Nairobi Wilson Airport (16:00 – 17:20). On arrival you will be met and taken to a local restaurant for dinner (payable direct), before being transferred to Nairobi International Airport (JKIA) for your onward international flight back home -
