What makes this trip extraordinary?

  • Breathtaking views of snow-capped Mt Kilimanjaro the highest free standing mountain in the world, 19,300 ft.

Day by day

Day 1

Nairobi - Amboseli

We will whisk you off your international flight to a nearby hotel for opportunity to freshen up, use the hotel pool and have a light lunch before transferring to the domestic airport for the one hour afternoon flight to Amboseli National Park. You will be welcomed at the airstrip and transferred to your lodge.

Overnight: Tortilis Camp D

Days 2-3

Amboseli National Park

Discover the park on shared game drives and game walks. Amboseli’s ecosystem is comprised of mainly savannah and grassland plains as well as swamps, dry lake beds, marshland, thick thorn bush and acacia forest. Described as ‘Africa’s Elephant Park’, Amboseli is of the best places in Africa to observe family groups of elephants and large bull elephants at close range. You are likely to see Grevy’s and Burchells' zebra, white-bearded wildebeest, eland, buffalo, hartebeest, hippo, giraffe, wild dog, waterbuck, jackal, Thomson's and Grant's gazelle and impala. If you are lucky you may also come across big cats such a lion and cheetah, as well as hyena. The spring waters also attract a vast array of birds, such as hammerkop, kingfisher, pelican, crake, egret and 47 types of raptor.

Overnight: Tortilis Camp B, L, D

Day 4

Amboseli - Mara North

Last views of Kilimanjaro in the distance before transferring to the airstrip for the flight to the Mara North Conservancy, touching down at Wilson Airport en route. The Mara North Conservancy is one of the most densely populated wildlife areas within the Masai Mara Ecosystem. Throughout the year great numbers of herbivores such as elephants, giraffes, zebras, Thomson’s gazelles and impalas seek the area for water and grazing and the big cat predators are never far away! Huge hippos and large crocodiles can be found lazing around in the waters of the Mara River. Upon arrival you will be met by your guide and transferred to your camp, enjoy a delicious lunch and then head out on an afternoon game activity.

Overnight: Elephant Pepper Camp B, L, D

Days 5-6

Mara North Conservancy

You will have two full days to explore this part of the Mara North Conservancy on shared game drives with your professional guide. Because you are staying in one of the Conservancies, night drives and walking safaris are available (age restrictions apply, please ask for details). Night drives are a great way to explore the bush as this is when the predators come to life and head out to hunt. The bush is completely different at night and to see and hear the change is fascinating. Walking safaris are also a great way to see the bush as you can spend far more time looking at the smaller aspects of the bush and will see things you would normally miss in a vehicle. You also have permits include for one day visit to the Mara Reserve, although most people welcome returning to the Conservancy which provides a more private and exclusive game viewing experience.

Overnight: Elephant Pepper Camp B, L, D

Day 7

Mara North - Nairobi

After a leisurely morning enjoying a final game drive, you will be transferred to the airstrip for you flight back to Wilson. On arrival you will be met and transferred to the international airport in time for your onward flight back home.
