This adventurous safari takes you to to the rugged mountains and dense forests of Virunga National Park on the eastern border of the Democratic Republic of Congo, home to the critically endangered mountain gorilla. With under 900 mountain gorillas now remaining in the wild, Virunga has played a crucial role in the conservation and continued survival of the world’s largest primate. The park is also renowned for its incredible biodiversity, containing more bird, mammal and reptile species than any other national park in Africa, including forest elephants, chimpanzees and the elusive okapi. You will have two opportunities to track the gorillas in the park, spending time with these incredible animals as you observe them forage and play in their natural environment.
