Haugan Cruises specialise in creating memorable journeys in the Galapagos whilst keeping sustainability and conservation in mind. With years of experience, local staff and luxury catamarans, Haugan Cruises are able to offer top quality expeditions at great value prices. They are verified as meeting the Rainforest Alliance sustainable tourism requirements and also support local volunteer programmes.
Haugan Cruises chooses to work with lodges and boats that support conservation and operate in an environmentally friendly manner.
La Selva Jungle Lodge in the Amazon was constructed using locally-sourced materials; composts its waste and uses it to fertilise their gardens; and also filters waste water so that it is able to be returned to the environment. They also focus on employing members of the local community giving them an income so they do not need to rely on hunting, fishing and cutting down trees which, in turn, protects the local environment.
Where possible during Galapagos expeditions, Haugan Cruises use sustainable suppliers with proven conservation credentials. They use biodegradable bathroom products from AVEDA on board; meet all park regulations throughout trips and use local crew and guides on-board.
The trip value is £16,000 based on the cost of two persons sharing excluding international flights.
