We had an amazing trip with Natural World Safaris. The trip was very well organised. Eric our driver met us at Kigali airport, the following morning we visited the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a must see to understand the history of Rwanda.

We were then driven to our lodge on the edge of the Volcanoes National Park – the oldest national park in Africa. Over the next two days we visited two gorilla families, expertly guided by trackers through a beautiful jungle-rainforest landscape. Although it was the rainy season, we had great weather on both days. On day one we observed a large mountain gorilla family consisting of several silverbacks, black backs, mature females, adolescents and baby gorillas. It was a great chance to observe, learn and take some amazing photos.

On day two we visited a smaller more recently established family consisting of one huge silverback, five females and four babies. Once again, it was an amazing experience being so close to such majestic creatures. Day three included a visit to a troupe of golden monkeys -another endangered species- they were very entertaining and provided great photo opportunities.

We were very impressed with the safety, security and overall cleanliness and orderliness of Rwanda. We were welcomed by a very friendly nation who are working hard on conserving their precious natural environment and wildlife.

A big thanks goes to David, our travel specialist who was coincidentally visiting Rwanda while we were there and who made our trip that extra bit special, and to Eric our driver and guide who was a very pleasant companion for the whole of our trip and ensured high quality experiences along the way! Highly recommended.
