Accommodation & Facilities

The rooms and suites feature five distinct styles, all naturally modern and in-keeping with their surroundings. Each one has either a private courtyard or balcony, with views to the gardens, beaches or water features. Guest rooms are Fortress, Ocean or Beach, the latter with the added bonus of a Jacuzzi, but each with their luxurious quirks. There are two types of suite, the first being Ocean Loft Rooms which, split over two floors, feature an indoor plunge pool and inviting day bed as well as an oversized living area. Fortress Residences have either one, two or three bedrooms, with an outdoor dining deck, and private infinity pool with astounding views of the coastline. Staying here is the ultimate in luxury, as you are pampered 24 hours a day by your very own private butler!

There is a large swimming pool for the use of all guests, a wine cellar, tea tasting and restaurants all on the premises, as well as a very luxurious spa featuring Ayurvedic treatments.


There are two restaurants at The Fortress, as well as a cocktail lounge, tea lounge and the option of in room dining. The cuisine is creative and innovative made from the freshest ingredients. Specialising in Sri Lankan and Mediterranean food, you will not be disappointed, wherever you decide to eat.


There are plenty of activities for those who don’t want to relax by the pool or indulge at the spa. Take a tour of Galle City and the Dutch Fort, visit the Handunugoda Tea Factory, take a boat ride in the River Madu or visit the Mirissa Water Sports centre (where you can snorkel with whales in season).
