A wonderfully peaceful and beautiful hideaway, with a great casual / elegant blend.
On the south west side of Zanzibar, the sands aren’t quite so postcard-perfect here, but we like our beaches a little more rustic. It can be a bumpy ride to the lodge, which makes it all the more rewarding once you arrive; just 30 minutes from the historic capital of Stone Town.
Accommodation & Facilities
Rooms are simple, but beautifully designed, scattered throughout the extensive, exquisite grounds. There are 20 deluxe rooms, each en-suite with a private terrace; these can be divided further into Sea View and Garden View. As well as this there are 4 luxury rooms, each with a private roof terrace, bath overlooking the ocean and open-air shower. The Baobab Suites, of which there are just 2, are perfect for honeymooners, submerged in magnificent baobab trees.
The beach bar is made from an authentic Zanzibari dhow, located right on a seaside cliff. There is also a spa and Jacuzzi, the latter being built into a baobab itself.
The restaurant is open air, serving the freshest seafood, local specialities and some traditional international cuisine.
Relax on the beach or embark on a sunset cruise, try your hand at fishing or even head out to the mangrove lagoon for some unique swimming opportunities. There is snorkelling and diving here, with pristine reefs accessible by boat, or even dolphin watching.
Children are welcome here. It can be popular with families, which is worth knowing before you book.
