About Ocean Eleven Guesthouse, Hermanus

About Ocean Eleven Guesthouse, Hermanus

Unpretentious, wonderfully scenic and totally luxurious, Ocean Eleven is nestled between the Overberg Mountains and the Atlantic Ocean, in the small coastal town of Hermanus. Directly overlooking Walker Bay from a position on the cliffs, this is a great place to spot whales in season, often not having to even leave your room to do so.

The colonial floor to ceiling windows and teak floors have been retained to this day, exemplifying the complete and utter elegance of the property and welcoming in those breathtaking views over the bay and mountains.

Lodge Details

Ocean Eleven is a colonial style guesthouse, surrounded by picturesque mountains.

Located on the famous Hermanus Cliffs, with stunning views over the ocean, about a 90 minute drive from Cape Town.

Accommodation & Facilities

There are three en-suite standard rooms located on the first floor, 2 of which are located in the original building and have the original high ceilings and windows that open out onto the garden. The third room is adjacent to the pool with French doors that lead out onto the deck. The deluxe rooms offer quite a lot of variety, larger than the standard rooms, some near the pool, some with a balcony and their own entrance. The deluxe rooms are, of course en-suite, with both a bath and a shower. The two suites are in the old roof of the house, each air-conditioned with beautiful en-suite bathrooms, the first of these is a honeymoon suite, and the second has a sleeper couch and space for an extra person.

The pool has sweeping views over Walker Bay and there is a gym as well as high speed internet.

The guesthouse serves a nice breakfast, usually buffet style with a wonderful choice of fruit, meats, cheeses and more.

Hermanus is world renowned for its land based whale watching and during season, you may even be able to watch them from the comfort of your room. Ocean Eleven doesn’t directly offer activities, however there is a lot available and the staff are more than happy to organise something for you. Get a closer view of the gentle giants by sea kayaking or boat trips, or even go shark cage diving. Relax on the beautiful beaches or take a walk along the cliff paths that lead to the centre of Hermanus, from which you may be able to spot humpbacks between June and November in the sheltered bays.

Child Policy

Children over 12 are welcome. Younger children may be allowed, we’d need to contact the guesthouse in advance to make sure.
