About Villa Margherita

This classy, antique bed and breakfast, known as ‘The Charming House’, is set in the heart of Swakopmund and was originally built between 1908 and 1913. Completely refurbished by its current owners, Claudine and Amelio, it opened for guests in 2008 and provides some unique accommodation.

Accommodation & Facilities

Upstairs in the main house you will find the light Queen Room and the grand King Room, as well as the romantic Rome & Juliet Room. Downstairs it’s even more inviting, with the Adam & Eve Room (which opens out onto the garden) and the Lord Nelson Room. Across the road there is also the honeymoon suite which has its own terrace, private parking and spacious living area.

In the main area you will find a living room with a cosy fireplace and a flower garden, as well as a separate restaurant.

Breakfast is served, usually, in the dining room or the garden (weather dependent). There is also the in-house restaurant, Il Tulipano, which must be pre-booked for evening meals.

Swakopmund is the adventure capital of Namibia and at the Villa Margherita you can book all kinds of tours and activities. The hotel prefers to book less commercial and more habitat-friendly tours, which includes anything from hot-air balloon rides and sky-diving to dune-boarding and quad-biking.
