A classic, semi-permanent tented camp.
This camp is set above the pretty Bisanadi River - a murmuring stream lined with palms and shaded by large Acacia tortilis trees. Offbeat Meru Camp has superb access to the rolling hills and thick forests of Meru National Park, as well as Bisanadi National Reserve - a true wilderness area. Both are fantastic for wildlife.
Accommodation & Facilities
The spacious tents are elegantly furnished with large iron beds and feature en-suite bathrooms with traditional 'bucket showers' and flushing toilets. Tents receive 24 hour solar lighting and the main camp areas are lit by traditional tilly lamps.
The communal lounge tent has comfortable sofas, a writing table, a fully stocked bar and a good selection of reading material. Informal dining is hosted in the mess tent or by the open fire, overlooking the river.
Offbeat Meru Camp also has a swimming pool - great for a refreshing dip after game drives.
Delicious meals are served either inside or outside in the open-air.
Day and night-time game drives in custom-designed Land Cruisers and guided bush walks with bush meals and sundowners are available. The camp also arranges Boran tribal community visits, access to a 44 km² Rhino Sanctuary and fishing excursions.
Children welcome but no special facilities.
