The type, or style, of safari that you book does seriously affect the experience that you will have in the destination of your choice. For this reason we have tried to outline in brief a few different safari styles listed below that should assist you in choosing your preferred experience.

Tailor-Made Safaris – The majority of safaris that we offer are handcrafted tailor-made itineraries to meet your specific requirements. We prefer to chat through your requirements on the phone and get a feel for what you truly want from your safari experience; how many days do you wish to travel for? What are your main interests? What accommodation would you like? What budget are you looking to spend? etc, etc… In this way we can pick and choose the properties that will suit you and your travel plans and will offer you the most rewarding safari experience at the end of the day. Tailor-made safaris do come at a higher cost as they are designed to meet your specific needs and involve travelling as an independent party rather than as part of a small group following a fixed dates itinerary.

Small Group Safaris – Throughout our portfolio we offer a selection of small group departures. These small groups are often in place in order to facilitate access into remote regions where travelling independently would be impossible due to the associated high costs. Travelling as part of a small group means that costs such as guides and transport etc can be divided amongst the group therefore providing a much more “realistic” cost for all involved. Walking Safaris - not necessarily for the first time safari goer but truly a fantastic and unique experience! Walking safaris offer the safari enthusiast a glimpse into the natural world from the dust up; specialist guides look after you as you explore the Bush on foot, often coming across some of the bigger game but also learning about the smaller and more intricate details of the African Bush that you would not usually encounter from the comfort of a 4×4. A Zambia walking safari is at the top of most explorers lists however walking safaris are also possible in other destinations including Kenya, Tanzania, Namibia and Botswana to name but just a few.

Family Safaris – Creating a safari for a family is a specific skill and something that you must take your time over. The time required in each location, the style of lodge or camp, the variety of activities on offer all have to be considered when tailoring an itinerary to meet a families specific requirements. Lodge Safaris – When travelling through remote areas full of wildlife some people do prefer to be lodged in a solid building! This is for peace of mind and we can always tailor itineraries to take this into consideration. The lodge experience is on an equal footing to that of a Bush Camp and you will still see a wide variety of game. On occasions the lodge experience is more of a “controlled” experience however nowadays even some lodges have you sleeping out in the open!

Bush Camping - A great thrill and one that can often be a good option for families as well (subject to the age of the children). Bush Camping offers you a truly wilderness experience and there is nothing quite like sitting round the campfire at night and watching the African starry nights unfold before your eyes. Varying in standard, sometimes with ensuite and sometimes without, bush camping is a must try for everyone; this is a true African experience and one that will offer you an up close and personal insight into the true Afrcian experience.
