Central Kalahari Game Reserve
You have two full days to explore this vast region with morning and afternoon game drives. The area is home to specialised wildlife including oryx, springbok, red hartebeest, honey badgers, ground squirrels and steenbok as well as numerous birds. This is also one of the best areas to see cheetah who take advantage of the open spaces to hunt springbok, wildebeest, steenbok and on occasions, oryx. If you are lucky you may get to see the famous black maned lions which are larger than their cousins in the rest of the country. One of the highlights of Tau Pan Camp is the Bushman walk where you get to learn more about their fascinating culture.

Today you will fly north to the Linyanti Marsh area of northern Botswana. This afternoon you will be able to enjoy a game drive with your guide as you go in search of the plentiful wildlife of this area.
Overnight: Duma Tau – (B/L/D)
Duma Tau is one of the best areas in Botswana to see leopards in the wild. The area along the river is the ideal habitat for these elusive cats so sightings are usually good, although they are never guaranteed. During the dry season this area attracts large herds of breeding elephants and on our last visit we spent three days with a pack of wild dogs who had recently moved into the area.
Overnight: Duma Tau - (B/L/D)
From Duma Tau you will fly west to the Duba Plains for the final leg of your safari. Duba Plains is renowned for its lion and buffalo interaction and there have been many documentaries made about this ongoing “war”.
Overnight: Duba Plains – (B/L/D)
After an exciting drive across the river (with the water coming over the bonnet of the Land Rover) you will arrive at the famed “Duba Plains
”; the large open plains with marshes, rivers, anthills and forested islands. The main focus here is the lion and buffalo interaction, but the general game is also very good with large herds of elephants, tssebbe, impala and red lechwe. It is also a fantastic destination for birds with many different habitats attracting a wide range of species. On the morning game drive you will locate the herd of about 1,000 buffalo to see where the lions are. If they are in tow, you are in for some exciting game viewing that day!
